HBI Group is expected to open a fifth factory in Hung Yen
On June 14, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee received and worked with HanesBrands Inc (HBI) of the United States led by Mr. Jerry Cook, Vice President of HBI Group.
At the working session, Mr. Jerry Cook reported to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong the results of its production and business activities in Vietnam as well as its future investment plan in Hung Yen. Accordingly, HBI Group currently has production factories in Hung Yen and Thua Thien Hue, creating jobs for about 12,000 workers.
Particularly in Hung Yen, the group has 4 factories in Khoai Chau and Kim Dong districts with nearly 6,000 workers. Those factories are currently operating well, contributing positively to the state budget and actively participating in social security activities. The Group is going to establish another factory in Hung Yen.
Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong highly appreciated the group's contributions in job creation, contribution to the budget and social security as well as the province's development. As for HBI’s planning to establish more factories in Hung Yen, he affirmed that the province will create favorable conditions for the corporation to implement in the framework of the law.
