The Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee request announcement of label certificate for Hung Yen “egg litchi”
On May 9, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee examined the process of making plan compensation, support, and resettlement in order to build the preservation zone of Hung Yen “egg litchi” (the ancient litchi - its fruit has the same size of a chicken egg) in Ba Dong village, Phan Sao Nam commune, Phu Cu district. This project is in the scheme of preservation and development of special longan and litchi area of the province.

According to the report of Phu Cu district, the People’s Committee of the district has cooperated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; designing and consulting agency to examine the expected planning of the ancient litchi tree preservation area at the household of Mr. Nguyen Huu Vi in Ba Dong village, Phan Sao Nam commune. The People’s Committee of District directed the relevant agencies to cooperate with the People’s Committee of Phan Sao Nam commune to examine the land and assets on land in order to make the compensation options upon land expropriation by the State. According to the plan, the total acquired area is 2.7 thousand square meters. The expected total compensation expense is VND 2.7 billion, the expected land plots of resettlement are 9 plots.
At the field examination, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong requested Phu Cu district to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to adjust the planning of ancient litchi tree preservation zone; make the appropriate compensation and resettlement plan and urgently submit the plan to the Provincial People's Committee; at the same time, mobilize people in the project area for their support to make sure that the project is completed in the fastest time.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong visited the egg litchi farming model of Quyet Tien Agricultural Cooperative and some models of intensive farming under the direction of VietGAP in Phan Sao Nam commune. Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee requested departments and branches to coordinate with Phu Cu district to urgently build trademarks and geographical indications for egg litchi products; expand litchi intensive farming area in the direction of VietGAP; coordinate with scientific institutes and research centers to apply science and technology to improve the quality of litchi.
He requested that the area of litchi in Phu Cu would enter the harvest in the next 2 weeks, so Phu Cu district should urgently coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to announce the certification of Hung Yen egg litchi trademarks; make plans to consume litchi products to avoid the situation of bumper crops but falling prices; develop litchi varieties as planned; and expand the brand of egg litchi in order to raise incomes for litchi growers.
